In a dramatic tale of deception that has captured the attention of social media users across Zimbabwe, a Zimbabwean man identified only as Sean has been exposed as a serial love cheat after it was revealed that he was simultaneously involved with 17 different women, leading each one on with false promises of marriage.
Sean’s elaborate web of lies began to unravel soon after he tied the knot with another woman—an unsuspecting bride who, like the others, believed she was his one true love. The truth came to light when one of his girlfriends, now a scorned ex-lover, stumbled upon wedding photos circulating on social media. Shocked and confused, she recognised Zimbabwean man in the images, dressed in a suit and standing next to a woman in a bridal gown.
Her curiosity quickly turned to outrage. Determined to uncover the extent of Sean’s betrayal, she got hold of his mobile phone—whether by chance or confrontation remains unclear. What she found was jaw-dropping: messages, photos, and conversations with no fewer than 16 other women, each one seemingly under the impression that Sean was their committed partner and future husband.
Rather than suffer in silence, the woman made the bold decision to go public. She compiled the names and social media profiles of the other women and began reaching out to them individually. Her goal was simple: to expose Sean for the manipulative liar he was and to ensure no one else fell victim to his charms.
The reaction from the other women was swift and emotional. Some were in tears, others in shock, but most were united in disbelief that they had all been misled by the same man. Many had invested emotionally, financially, and even spiritually in their relationships with Sean. Some had met his family, while others had been introduced to him as “fiancé” within their own social circles.
Zimbabwean Man Exposed for Deceiving 17 Women With False Marriage Promises
According to messages shared online, Zimbabwean man used a variety of tactics to maintain his web of lies. He reportedly changed his behaviour and persona depending on the woman he was dealing with—playing the religious, business-minded gentleman for some, and a laid-back, romantic partner for others. He crafted elaborate stories to explain his frequent absences or last-minute cancellations, often blaming work commitments or family emergencies. In several instances, he even claimed to be travelling for business or recovering from illness.
Social media was flooded with screenshots of his conversations, shared by the women as proof of his duplicity. In one message, he told a woman he was preparing lobola negotiations; in another, he claimed to be scouting wedding venues. Each message painted a different reality—yet they were all built on lies.
“He told me I was the only one, that we were planning our future together,” one of the women posted online. “I even lent him money for a business venture. I feel so used.”
Another woman revealed, “He met my parents. He promised we would get married by December this year. I’m still in shock.”
The scandal quickly drew comparisons to infamous cases of serial deceivers, with some likening Sean’s actions to those of Baltasar, a character or persona known for similar behaviour in popular culture. The phrase “dribbling women”—a colloquial term in Zimbabwe for deceiving multiple romantic partners—has since trended online, with memes and jokes circulating widely, even as real victims continued to process the emotional toll.
Commentators on social media have expressed both sympathy and disbelief. While many condemned Sean’s behaviour as manipulative and emotionally abusive, others questioned how he managed to maintain so many relationships without being caught sooner. Some users even speculated whether he had psychological issues or simply mastered the art of deception.
As of now, Zimbabwean man, Sean has not publicly responded to the allegations, and attempts to reach him for comment have been unsuccessful. His whereabouts are unknown, and it is unclear whether his legal wife is aware of the unfolding drama.
Meanwhile, the women affected by Sean’s lies have formed a support group of sorts, sharing their experiences and helping each other heal. Many have vowed to move forward stronger and wiser, warning others to remain vigilant and cautious when entering into romantic relationships.
In a country already grappling with trust issues in modern dating, Sean’s story has struck a deep nerve—serving as both a cautionary tale and a sobering reminder of how easy it can be to fall victim to emotional manipulation, even by someone who appears to have the best intentions.
