Five arrested while trying to seek divine powers at popular prophet’s shrine

Five people have been arrested in connection with a murder case that took place at a bar in Gwanda on the 2nd of January.

The five are Freeman Brighton, Robert Dube, Vusumuzi Mkoni, Mthembeni Baloyi and Brian Sibanda, who are part of a gang of six male suspects, who allegedly assaulted and stabbed a 32-year-old man following a misunderstanding over an unknown issue.

It is alleged that the gang left the now deceased Brian Nyoni bleeding profusely from stab wounds and died upon admission at Gwanda Hospital.

The first two suspects were reportedly arrested while trying to seek divine powers at a local self-proclaimed prophet, leading to the arrest of the other three.

The sixth suspect is still at large.

Matabeleland South Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the arrests and urged people to desist from resorting to violence in times of misunderstandings.
