Nigerian Afro-beats star, D’banj arrived in Zimbabwe on Thursday for a project with popular musician Roki bankrolled by local music promoter Passion Java.
Born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, the Nigerian musician whose last visit to Zimbabwe was in 2013, is ecstatic about rekindling romance with his Zimbabwean fans after a decade.
The “Oliver Twist” and “Fall in Love” hitmaker is set to collaborate with urban grooves luminary Roki.
D’banj said, “I was here a decade ago and I’m glad I’m back in Zimbabwe. I’m set to embark on a number of musical projects here with Zimbabwean musicians. Collaboration is a new competition so there is a need for us African musicians to work together.’’
Controversial prophet Passion Java on Wednesday, took to social media to post pictures of himself, D’Banj and Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson ED Mnangagwa. The pictures were taken in the state house.
