One hundred and forty-six (146) COVID-19 cases have been reported in schools since they opened last month, with 31 new cases reported last week, a senior government official has said.
Addressing a post-Cabinet briefing in Harare on Tuesday, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa said:
A total of 146 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported since the opening of schools for the first term in January 2023.
During the week under review, there were 31 new admissions, compared to the 40 recorded the previous week
Mutsvangwa said to date, a total of 6 693 001 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, while 5 011 932 people have received their second dose.
About 1 427 670 people have so far received their third dose.
