Dynamos fail to score in two premiership matches

Dynamos on Monday missed an opportunity to reclaim the top spot in the Castle Lager Premiership race after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cranborne Bullets at the National Sports Stadium.

This was a second successive goalless draw for the Glamour Boys after they fired blanks against premiership debutants Simba Bhora before the Easter Monday encounter with the soldiers.

According to a report by The Herald, the army side looked like the better team despite using anti-football delaying tactics to frustrate DeMbare.

Speaking after the match, Dynamos head coach Herbert Maruwa said opponents tend to waste time when they face DeMbare. He said:

think as a team we need to come up with some new strategies because some teams are coming with delaying tactics as you saw in this game. Most of the time the goalkeeper was down.

Even last week (against Simba Bhora), it was the same. So most of these teams are coming up with these delaying tactics and we need to come up with a new strategy in order for us to get a positive result.

Dynamos take on Highlanders at Barboufields Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.

DeMbare needed maximum points yesterday to go back to the top of the table but after the drab draw, they ended up in third place.

Cranborne Bullets coach Nesbert Saruchera believes the team is moving in the right direction. He said:

I think we did well to manage the game, especially in the second half. We managed to collect a point from the Harare giants so I think the progression is good. We are moving in the right direction.

We just hope that in our next fixture, we start scoring goals and collecting maximum points.
