The ZANU PF Women’s League has implored party members and candidates who contested during the primary elections to work together ahead of the general elections expected between July and August this year.
A ZANU PF Women’s League rally held at Mafuke Hall in Mutare South this Saturday saw candidates who contested against each other during the party’s primary elections pledging to work as team ahead of the impending general elections.
Primary elections candidates, Comrades Godfrey Harahwe and Brain Munakamwe appealed to the masses to vote for party candidates and work together with the legislator-elect as well as councillors and the party leadership.
“I am going to work closely with the candidates who contested against me in the primary elections. I am going to work with every party member. Manicaland ZANU PF Women’s League provincial chairperson Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa implored all party members to concentrate on the party’s mobilisation drive to guarantee national development, peace and cohesion within the country,” Mutare South legislator-elect, Tawanda Dumbarimwe said.
“The primary elections are over and there is now need to vigorously campaign for our President and party candidates. You need to vote ZANU PF as peace is guaranteed under the ZANU PF leadership. Let’s concentrate on winning the elections,” noted ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League provincial chairperson, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa.
ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary for Administration, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa said unity is the strongest card to attain the target of Five million votes.
“We had our choices in the primary elections and there is only one candidate that excels. The winners needs to work closely with those who contested against them during the primary elections. I am happy that the candidates who contested against each other are here. There is need for the party candidate to unite with those who failed to make it during the primary elections. The President will soon proclaim the elections dates. There is need to quickly move into mobilisation mood as time for the elections is fast approaching. The protest vote has yielded no positive results in the country,” said Senator Mutsvangwa.
Senator Mutsvangwa spoke on the positive strides under the leadership of President Mnangagwa in developing the country.
