THE ruling ZANU PF party is intensifying its mobilisation drive in Bulawayo as it positions itself well ahead of this year’s general elections.
The revolutionary party is intensifying and sharpening its mobilisation strategy as it gunners for five million votes in the forthcoming harmonised elections.This Sunday, the ruling party embarked on various meetings across Bulawayo as it moves ahead with its mobilisation drive, with winning candidates meeting party members.
“We were moving in all constituencies to reveal the winning candidates in the primary elections and instilling discipline and unity in the party,” said ZANU PF Politburo member, Cde Tshinga Dube.
“As a party, we are scaling up our mobilization drive in Bulawayo and the response has been positive. People have seen the positive things being done by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and people have realised the need to stand with a development-oriented party,” he emphasised.
The party is targeting to lure more voters from former opposition territories.ZANU PF Bulawayo Central candidate, Cde Tendai Charuka noted, “We are intensifying the mobilisation process in Bulawayo and also encouraging people to register to vote.”
“Supporting the party is one thing and bringing a registered party supporter is another thing. We need people to be registered voters so that they can defend the party ZANU PF through the ballot box,” added Cde Charuka.
Developmental projects being undertaken by the second republic under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa have become a flagship of the ruling party ahead of the general elections expected in July or August.
