Urban Grooves musicians set to reunite

It is set to be an old-school feast as urban grooves musicians who made a mark on the local music scene at the turn of the millennium reunite for a concert set for the 17th of this month in Harare.

Urban Grooves musicians including United Kingdom-based Decibel, are set to rekindle romance with their fans at a show set for the Venue, Avondale.

The concert is expected to evoke nostalgia as the genre’s greats like, Roki, Trevor Dongo, Tererai Mugwadi, and Dino Mudondo will perform their old-school hits at a show dubbed ‘Urban Grooves Concert.’

“It’s going to be super amazing. We are going to have fun. I’m going to churn out my yesteryear hits like Wadarirei. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that no one should miss,” said Plaxedes Wenyika.

The event, according to Kayse Connect administrator Kudakwashe Hwapunga, is part of the ongoing revival of urban grooves music.

“We have a star-studded lineup with the likes of ExQ, Bashupi, and Stunner. We even invited the UK-based Decibel to be part of the show and he is coming. It’s going to be lit and we are going to hold more of these shows because we want to bring back the movement through concerts,” said Hwapunga.

Other musicians billed to perform at the event are Willom Tight, Diana Samkange, ExQ, Stunner, Madiz, and Mafriq.
