Madonna is “recovering at home” after she was rushed to the ICU following a “serious bacterial infection.” Last week, the Vogue singer was found “unresponsive” by her family members, who were said to be “preparing for the worst,” following her shock hospitalisation.
The 64-year-old’s close friend and comedian Rosie O’Donnell initially took to Instagram with a snap of the pair from her old TV show. She added the caption: “She’s feeling good #madonna #love,” reassuring fans.
In a recently upload of a throwback snap of her and Madonna, Rosie assured fans than Madonna was still on the mend, telling one commenter that “she’s good” and is “very strong in general.”
“She’s good,” she told one fan, before telling another: “She is recovering at home – she is very strong in general.”
The worrying news of Madonna’s health – which comes just two weeks before the singer was due to starty her Celebration tour – was shared by her manager Guy Oseary on Instagram.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU,” Oseary wrote in a statement.
“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
Her worried family had also kept her failing health a secret from fans for five days.
“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the relative said to the Daily Mail.
Madonna is now said to be “feeling better and following doctors’ orders” after she was thought to have been hooked up to a ventilator and intubated, and had a breathing tube was passed down her throat and into her lungs.
