Dineo Ranaka reportedly part ways with Kaya FM

Popular South African radio host and mother, Dineo Ranaka and Kaya FM have allegedly tabled mutual separation negotiations.

This comes barely a year after Dineo Ranaka joined the station.

However, little is known about the sudden development and who tabled the negotiations.

Unconfirmed reports have it that Dineo Ranaka approached the station mandarins after her discharge from a Pretoria mental hospital and proposed that they negotiate a mutual separation.

Dineo Ranaka has been off-air for almost two months after suffering another episode of depression that left South Africa concerned.

A few months ago, Dineo Ranaka took to Instagram to open up about her depression. Against the backdrop of her posts, Kaya 959 issued a public statement wishing Dineo Ranaka well.

The station went on to replace her with Sizwe Dhlomo.

However, according to Sunday World, despite checking herself into a mental facility in Pretoria, she reportedly discharged herself barely three days after admission.

No doubt she has had several woes in recent years. Dineo Ranaka had a dramatic exit from Metro FM after nine years in the backdrop of her controversial uMlando dance challenge.

In 2022, the rumour mill had it that she was heading to Kaya 959 in the backdrop of her exit. The station went on to confirm the news with a news statement.

“Kaya959 is proud to welcome Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka to the station’s growing family. The move is in line with the continuous repositioning the station has embarked on since 2021”, the station said in a statement.
