10-year-old girl screams for help after r@pe attempt

Residents of Highfield, Lusaka suburb were shell-shocked to see a dagga seller in the room of a 10-year-old neighbor in an attempt to rape around 2 am on Friday when she was coming from the toilet after a running stomach.

Sources familiar with the incident told Bulawayo24.com that the suspect Innocent Dhene was lucky to escape instant justice from the mob after the girl’s parents chose to go the legal way.

“We were shocked to see Dhene in the girl’s room after she screamed for help and we rushed to see what was happening,” the source said.

“The father of the girl locked the door while Dhene was inside and went to file a police report.”

It is further alleged that while he was inside the locked room he broke the window panel and told his wife to hide dagga sachets next door.

The wife took the dagga sachets and gave them to Madeline Mabika for safekeeping. When the police came they found him inside the room and arrested him. He is expected in court today.
