A man has been arrested for breaking into a house, tying the occupant to a tree, and fatally whipping him with a sjambok. The incident took place on September 24th in Guyo village, Chipinge.
According to a police statement, Wiltom Mlambo (41) unlawfully entered the residence of Shumbeni Muyambo (39) through an open window.
“Police in Chisumbanje have arrested Wiltom Mlambo (41) in connection with a murder case that occurred at Guyo Village, Musikavanhu, Chipinge on 24/09/23 at about 0100 hours.
The victim, Shumbeni Muyambo (39), died after the suspect tied him to a tree with an electric cable before assaulting him with a sjambok. The victim had unlawfully entered the suspect’s house through an open window,” reads the statement.
