Teenager kills man over girlfriend

A party in Plumtree ended tragically after a jealous 18-year-old man stabbed another man to death in a girlfriend dispute.

Nature Ngwenya appeared before Plumtree magistrate yesterday facing a murder charge. He was not asked to plead to the charge and was remanded in custody until October 2.

Prosecutors alleged on September 18 last year the suspect attended a party in Plumtree and started drinking beer with other people at the party.

He saw the now-deceased Njabulo Ncube drinking and dancing to the music that was being played at the party.

Ncube picked a girl at the party and started dancing with her. Ngwenya claimed the girl was his and a misunderstanding arose.
