Tara Reid sparked concern with her changing face as fans worried about the American Pie star’s health. The 47-year-old actress has dropped out of the limelight after her debut in the hugely successful teen comedy franchise American Pie, but shared snaps from her appearance at Vegan Fashion Week in Los Angeles on Monday. Posting a slideshow of photos on Instagram, Tara thanked stylist and designer Derek Warburton for inviting her to the ethical fashion show, and looked happy as she posed on the red carpet.
“Has the most amazing time @veganfashionweek thanks so much for having me again in your front row, so happy to see my friend @derekwarburton,” she wrote, alongside snaps of her wearing a crinkled purple silk skirt and embroidered white sleeveless top. However, it was her puffy face that concerned fans, who reached out to her in the comments.
“She looks sick”, one wrote, as another agreed: “She doesn’t even resemble the girl we used to know.” Her loyal fans were quick to defend her, with one writing: “You look fabulous ignore the negativity,” with another adding: “Please don’t read these comments – people are horrible creatures. Live your best life and be as happy as you can be.”
In a video she shared on Sunday, which showed her arriving at an event, her worried followers were even more concerned about her appearance. “Still looks great but something is wrong,” one commented. In the clip, Tara can be seen slightly stumbling on the pavement, and reaches out to her companion to try and steady herself.
“A person from the other part of the world is writing to you to say – you do not look well! This is not a healthy look and whoever says it is – they are mad. Surround yourself with people who care about you, so you can be at a better place,” one fan pleaded, as another added: “Wishing you nothing but the best & hope you’re doing okay!”
