After Kim Kardashian issued some major praise for Tristan Thompson’s parenting, his family of his eldest son, Prince, wants to set the record straight.
The socialite called Tristan “such a good friend and such a good dad” on a recent episode of The Kardashians, but now Prince’s aunt Kai Cyre has claimed that is far from the truth. She claimed in an Instagram post: “It’s so painful to see how Tristan can find the time to do these nice things for others but can’t seem to show up and be a real parent for my nephew Prince.
“The fact that he can take other children to school and activities in the same city, yet never sees or speaks to his own son, unless it’s for a party or planned photo opportunity, is appalling and inexcusable.”
Kai further accused Tristan of being less than financially supportive. According to her post, Tristan no longer pays child support and hasn’t for “a very long time”. In fact, she even claimed he doesn’t help financially to support his son’s education.
Up until now, Prince’s mother Jordan Craig and her family have been relatively silent about their relations with Tristan, but after Kim’s praise, Kai said it is all “too much”. Since Tristan is allegedly no longer helping financially, Kai said Jordan is working “multiple jobs as she has since she was 16-years-old”. Apparently, Tristan hasn’t even asked for updates on Prince’s education.
She added: “Stepping up for your son is not at all about money it’s about the time spent.”
She also turned her attention on Kim, specifically, asking her to uplift other women instead of shield Tristan from possible backlash. Kai said: “I don’t want to believe that you are this insensitive to the fact that he literally ignores his children. That’s nice if he’s been a good friend to you, but let’s consider our sisters before taking to global platforms to defend this man’s character.”
In the comments of the post, a fan shared her belief that the Kardashians are trying to “repair Tristan’s reputation” in order for Khloe to take him back with ease. They wrote: “The truth is he’s got other kids and a real father loves and treats them ALL equally regardless of his relationship with the mothers. The audacity to be doing all that for kids that aren’t even his while he’s been slacking on this end. He should be ashamed of himself. Good for you for speaking up!”
