Over a dozen members of Shania Twain’s crew were hospitalized Wednesday after getting into a multi-vehicle collision while traveling between shows in Canada.
“One crew bus and one truck from the Shania Twain – Queen Of Me tour were involved in a highway accident driving between Winnipeg and Saskatoon,” the singer’s management group told Page Six in a statement.
“Multiple vehicles encountered dangerous driving conditions due to inclement weather,” it continued. “Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals.”
However, the Grammy winner, 58, was not on the bus at the time of the crash.
“We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support,” the statement concluded. “We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told “Entertainment Tonight” that 13 people were taken to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.
They received a call just after 7 a.m. about a bus that had rolled over on the highway, per the outlet. CBC Saskatchewan also obtained footage from the crash site, showing the bus toppled onto its side with debris lying all around it.
There appeared to be snow and ice on the ground. The Grammy winner, 58, kicked off her tour in April and last performed in Winnipeg on Tuesday. While she is slated to take the stage in Saskatoon on Thursday, it’s unclear if the accident will impact her upcoming shows.
Just one day before the collision, Twain expressed how excited she was to be closing her tour in her home country.
“You know I had to give a little extra drama with my outfit for the final US show of the #QueenOfMeTour – I love how much the fabric is dancing in these photos ❤️,” she tweeted Tuesday alongside a photo of herself on stage in an elaborate pink cape.
“Now, we’re in the final run of shows, ending the tour in Canada felt only right… Winnipeg, see your beautiful faces tonight blush🥰.”
She has yet to speak out about the accident.
