After her daughter Beyonce wrapped up her massively successful Renaissance Tour, Tina Knowles revealed her daughter can be ‘mean’ during quick costume changes. The tour — which is said to have grossed a whopping $4.5 billion — spanned from May to August, shattering many box office records at various venues.
Tina, 69, appeared on the Halloween episode of Sherri, where she admitted Beyonce could get, ‘really mean’ during costume quick changes. ‘I was saying, “Girl, you get really mean back there,” and I am really happy that I don’t have to be back there anymore,’ Tina said on Sherri.
The mother also revealed that her daughter had over 100 costumes that she didn’t wear on the successful Renaissance Tour. We’d laugh because she used to do “Flaws and All.” She would say, “I’m a (b***h) in the morning,” and I’ll be like, “and the evening too!”‘ Tina said.
Still, while things would get heated backstage, Beyonce would always apologize for things she said in the heat of the intense moment.
‘She’ll be like, “Mama, I’m so sorry,” and I’m like, “I know.” Sometimes she’ll be crying, and I was like, “She crying because she know she just said some crazy stuff to us,”‘ Tina admitted.
‘But that’s the heat of the moment, because you’re trying to get your shoes on, and everybody’s waiting, and if somebody’s messing up or they lose the shoes, then you messed up the whole show. So, I understand it,’ Tina added.
Tina also revealed that Beyonce, ‘wanted to have more than one stylist, and I actually hired four people. It would have been impossible [with just one].
‘We had over 600 costumes to choose from, and so she still has maybe 150 costumes that she hasn’t… But every night, she did at least five, four to five new costumes,’ Tina added.
She also joked that she should have hired some of Queen Bey’s fans, because she was impressed with what the fans came out to the show wearing. I look out in the audience, I’ve been to I think, probably 40 of the 56 shows, and every night, you know, I see the most amazing costumes,’ Tina began.
