Popular Mzansi radio presenter, Anele Mdoda jumped at the opportunity to take her child, Alakhe, to his first day of school, like many other working mothers. The 947 presenter one-upped that by broadcasting her morning show from his school, Reddam House in Hilderfontein in Gauteng.
Alakhe – an eight-year-old YouTuber and who has a close friendship with Trevor Noah – is in Grade 3 this year.
In a series of tweets, Anele revealed that she had to previously choose between work or the chance to take her child on his first day to school.
But this year, the media darling had the best of both when she broadcast her show from the private school based in Fourways.
I always miss Alakhe’s first day of school or I miss the show so I can attend his first day of school, this year… I said we won’t be missing any of the above. I came up with a master plan #Aneleandtheclubon947

Joined by Alakhe’s dad, Anele heaped hugs and kisses on the bubbly little boy.
“Parents know it’s a big deal,” she said in the clip.
