Terracotta Trading, the developer behind the Egodini Bus Terminus, is set to commence the second phase of the rehabilitation project, which will include the construction of the bus terminal building.
Phase 1A of this multi-million-dollar project, completed in February, facilitated the return of commuter omnibuses to the terminus on February 5 and included informal trader stalls, a taxi rank, and associated social amenities.
Following the completion of the first phase, the developer submitted new plans to the Bulawayo City Council (BCC) to expand the taxi rank due to the high number of commuter omnibuses interested in operating there.
Revised plans for the construction of the bus terminal, designed to emulate the famous Park Station in South Africa, have been submitted. The developer has set December 1 as the target date for cross-border and inter-city buses to begin operations in the completed terminal building.
