A Kombi driver in Plumtree faces legal consequences after fatally assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute, stemming from his inability to control his temper.
Author Tshuma (24) appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was charged with murder. He was remanded in custody until July 16 and advised to seek bail from the High Court.
According to the prosecution led by Celestine Madziwa, on June 26, Tshuma picked up his girlfriend, Kwanele Ngwenya, from Tsukuru village in Madlambudzi using his Toyota Hiace. Upon arriving at her residence, an argument ensued between them.
During the altercation, Tshuma physically assaulted Ngwenya, causing her to lose consciousness. He then alerted the victim’s grandmother about the incident, and they rushed her to a nearby clinic. Unfortunately, Ngwenya’s condition deteriorated, leading to her death the following day.
