Known for his illustrious career with Dynamos, Maroto’s influence extended far beyond the pitch, bringing together a diverse array of people to honor his legacy.

Football, as a universal language, resonated with millions throughout Maroto’s career, and this sentiment was reflected in the gathering at Mugugu Village. The Zimbabwe Football Association, the Premier Soccer League, former Dynamos players, coaches, referees, fans, and politicians all came together to pay their respects to one of Dynamos’ beloved sons.

Born and raised in Tynwald South, Harare, Maroto was not only a football icon but also a community leader. His impact on his hometown was profound, with locals remembering him as a mentor who encouraged setting goals and planning for the future from a young age.

Maroto’s foresight and vision were evident to all who knew him. Even after retiring from football, he remained proactive, seeking opportunities to contribute to the sport’s development. His positivity and belief in football’s potential to improve were inspiring to those around him.
