Zimbabwe imposes ban on public gatherings and events ahead of SADC summit

Music enthusiasts eager to experience LeeMckrazy’s performance at the upcoming Fiesta Fiesta will have to exercise a bit more patience. The highly anticipated show, originally scheduled for August 11, 2024, has been postponed following a government directive that bans all gatherings in Harare during August. This measure is in preparation for the 44th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), set to take place in the city on August 17, 2024.

The Zimbabwean government’s decision aims to ensure the city remains orderly and secure for the high-profile regional summit. Consequently, Fiesta Fiesta announced the postponement of the LeeMckrazy concert, informing fans through their official social media channels.

In their statement, Fiesta Fiesta assured ticket holders that their purchases would remain valid for the rescheduled event. “All tickets purchased remain valid and will be used for the same show at a date to be announced by the end of this week,” the organizers said. They also extended their apologies for any inconvenience the postponement may cause and expressed their continued commitment to delivering exceptional outdoor entertainment.

Fiesta Fiesta’s full statement read:

“Fiesta Fiesta would like to advise all its stakeholders and patrons that the LeeMckrazy show penciled for 11 August 2024 has been deferred. This development is due to a Government directive to postpone all shows and public gatherings scheduled for August due to the SADC summit being held in Harare. Please note that all tickets purchased remain valid and will be used for the same show at a date to be announced by the end of the week. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
