Tino Kadewere donates kits, balls to former school Prince Edward High

Tino Kadewere, the French-based Zimbabwean national team striker, has made a significant contribution to his former school, Prince Edward High in Harare, by donating a set of football kits and equipment through his Kadewere Foundation. This generous gesture is a testament to Kadewere’s appreciation for the role his alma mater played in his development as a footballer.

The donation, reported by H-Metro, includes two complete kits for 25 players, a training kit, FIFA-certified match balls, and a first aid kit box. This equipment is set to benefit both the current students and the football programs at Prince Edward High.

Prosper Kadewere, Tino’s brother and chairman of the Kadewere Foundation, expressed the family’s gratitude towards the school. “We are very much appreciative of the role the school played in the grooming of Tino,” he said. He emphasized that Tino’s donation is a way of honoring his roots and acknowledging the support he received during his formative years.

“Tino is an individual who always appreciates his background and upbringing. He always makes efforts to honor all those who took part in his grooming,” Prosper Kadewere added. “It is only prudent for him, through the Kadewere Foundation, that we come in, making donations like these.”

The gesture has been warmly received by the Prince Edward High community. Norman Taruvinga, a teacher and soccer coach at the school who once coached Kadewere, expressed his appreciation for the donation. Taruvinga, who was also the head coach of the Zimbabwe U-15 team during the CAF Schools Championship last December, noted that the donation would greatly support young footballers at the school.

“This donation will go a long way in helping budding footballers to see their dreams come true,” said Taruvinga. “Our boys will be inspired to reach the same greater heights as Tino did, or even surpass him as they are coming through the same systems.”

Tino Kadewere’s contribution not only aids in the development of football talent at Prince Edward High but also serves as an inspirational example for current and future students. His commitment to giving back to the community underscores the positive impact that successful individuals can have on their alma maters and local youth.
