Zanu PF in Mashonaland West has officially launched a province-wide campaign to cascade the resolutions of its 2025 National Conference to grassroots structures, with district leadership unanimously endorsing the key outcomes. The initiative comes as the ruling party moves to ensure that its policies and strategic priorities are clearly communicated and implemented at every level of the organisation.
At the forefront of the mobilisation is the party’s first resolution: the proposed extension of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term in office to 2030. Senior party officials confirmed that legal processes to facilitate this extension are targeted for completion before the Christmas holidays. Party structures across the province are now tasked with educating members on the resolution and rallying support for its implementation.
Over the weekend, Zanu PF’s inter-district committees convened across the province’s six administrative centres to review feedback from the National Conference and discuss strategies for cascading the resolutions. The gatherings drew participation from party leaders and members representing multiple constituencies, reflecting the party’s emphasis on widespread consultation and alignment.
At the Zvimba inter-district meeting held in Banket, feedback from four constituencies highlighted overwhelming support for President Mnangagwa to continue leading the nation beyond his current term. Speaking to party members, Central Committee Member Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, who doubles as Minister of Justice and Zanu PF’s Politburo Secretary for Legal Affairs, underscored the urgency of constitutional reforms to effect the term extension.
“We are ready as the party to push ahead with President Mnangagwa’s term extension, and this has to be concluded before the Christmas holidays,” Cde Ziyambi stated. He called on members to actively participate in the mobilisation, emphasising that grassroots understanding and support were critical to achieving the party’s objectives.

The Zvimba meeting was also attended by Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Marian Chombo, and National Women’s League Treasurer, Caroline Mugabe. Cde Chombo praised President Mnangagwa’s leadership, particularly highlighting economic policies aimed at fostering business growth and encouraging members to leverage these initiatives to contribute to national prosperity by 2030.
Meanwhile, in Chinhoyi, the Makonde inter-district meeting echoed the same sentiments. Zanu PF Provincial Chairman Mary Mliswa-Chikoka charged district leaders with the responsibility of ensuring that the resolutions reach every party member.
“The ruling party in the province is ready to initiate the legal process to extend President Mnangagwa’s term,” Cde Mliswa-Chikoka said. She emphasised that the feedback meetings were essential, noting that the National Conference primarily involved senior officials, making grassroots cascading a top priority.
Cde Mliswa-Chikoka also officiated at the Sanyati inter-district meeting held in Kadoma, where she reiterated calls for unity, discipline, and active participation within party ranks. She urged members to uphold party ideals, stressing that coordinated action at the provincial and constituency levels was vital to successfully implementing the National Conference resolutions.
The province-wide consultations form part of a structured approach to ensure that Zanu PF’s policies are uniformly understood and supported across all districts. Officials explained that the cascading process not only allows for dialogue and feedback from ordinary members but also strengthens organisational cohesion. Party leaders have urged members to report any challenges in communicating the resolutions to ensure that corrective measures can be taken promptly.
Across the province, the campaign has been met with enthusiasm, with many party members expressing their commitment to actively participate in community sensitisation programmes. The mobilisation also aims to foster collaboration between local leadership and party supporters, ensuring that the resolutions are not only communicated but embraced as a shared vision for the province and the country at large.
As the campaign unfolds, Zanu PF in Mashonaland West has signalled its determination to advance the National Conference agenda, particularly the term extension resolution, in line with planned legal processes. The provincial leadership stressed that the successful cascading of resolutions would reflect the party’s organisational strength, unity, and readiness to implement its strategic objectives.
Through these coordinated efforts, the party hopes to achieve widespread grassroots awareness, consolidate internal discipline, and strengthen support for President Mnangagwa’s leadership, positioning the province to actively contribute to national priorities over the coming years
