A woman from was arrested on Saturday for assaulting another woman she accused of bedd!ng her husband. Mutombwa, 38, of Overspill attacked Janet Cigarret, with a baton stick in Chinamano Extension, leaving her unconscious.
Janet was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of hospitals where she was admitted.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Edinah was arrested and is facing an attempted murder charge.
“On Saturday at around 12pm, the accused person went to the complainant’s house and accused her of having an extrɑmɑrital ɑffa!r with her husband.
“The accused person assaulted the complainant with a baton stick all over the body several times.
“The complainant’s neighbour heard the children screaming and rushed to the complainant’s house to investigate.
“She went and found the accused person assaulting the complainant with a baton stick and failed to restrain her. She sought help from other residents, but they failed to restrain the accused person who continued assaulting the complainant.
“The accused person frogmarched the complainant to her husband,” said Insp Chakanza. He urged people to avoid taking the law into their own hands.
