A shocked family discovered a painting of a child who looks uncannily similar their son while staying in a ‘spooky’ B&B.
Mum Jennie Stevenson explained the group were on their way home from a holiday when they stayed at the ‘secluded’ property for the night.The family, who relocated to Sweden from the UK two years ago, needed a pit stop on the long drive home from their first ski trip in the country.
But it’s any wonder they managed to get a good night’s sleep after making the unusual discovery.
The family, who arrived at the B&B around dusk, were getting ready to sit down to dinner in the communal dining room when they noticed something wasn’t quite right.”My daughter just went, ‘Mum, there’s a picture of Barney on the wall,'” Jennie recalled. And when the mum-of-three took a closer look, she found a painting of a child who could be mistaken for her seven-year-old son.
Actually, the artwork by Swedish painter Carl Larsson depicts a little girl, but she looks remarkably similar to the youngster, except for her long hair.
Thankfully, Jennie and her husband weren’t too spooked by the painting, ‘Flowers in the Meadow’, even though they were staying in an ‘old-fashioned’ property with ‘creaky floors’, and Barney found the whole thing funny.
