Queen Skolopad announces her retirement

Controversial entertainer Queen Skolopad, also known as Nonhlanhla Qwabe, has announced her retirement from the entertainment industry. The 40-year-old musician, hailing from Qwaqwa in the Free State, expressed her desire to focus on being a mother and dedicating more time to her family.

Queen Skolopad recently welcomed her second baby, whom she named after herself, and this life-changing event has prompted her decision to step away from her persona as Skolopad.

“I’ve reached an age where I can no longer sustain the lifestyle of Skolopad. Turning 40 this year has made me realize that I’ve been neglecting my family. Attending shows and then going to work exhausted the next day is not conducive to caring for my patients,” Queen Skolopad expressed.

To bid farewell to her stage persona, Queen Skolopad has planned an intimate show on September 28th at Calabash in Bethlehem, Free State. This event will serve as an official goodbye to the Skolopad character, coinciding with a pre-birthday celebration as she turns 40 the following day.

While retiring from her entertainment career, Queen Skolopad believes that this is just the beginning of a new chapter in her life. She embraces the notion that life truly begins at 40 and expresses her newfound appreciation for herself and her life. Her primary focus now is to dedicate her attention to her newborn baby boy and his father. Queen Skolopad aspires to be a devoted family woman, prioritizing the care and upbringing of her child.

“I will be raising my baby boy, a pure soul who requires my undivided attention. Farewell to the stage persona, unless I’m enjoying some leisure time on the beach or swimming,” she added.

Reflecting on her past, Queen Skolopad expressed no regrets about her journey and the choices she made. Despite facing criticism from others, she embraced and celebrated her body, appreciating herself throughout the years.

As Queen Skolopad bids adieu to the entertainment industry, she embarks on this new phase of her life with gratitude and excitement, ready to embrace the joys and challenges of motherhood and family life. Her decision serves as a reminder that personal growth and priorities can evolve over time, leading individuals to make choices that align with their changing circumstances and aspirations.
