The hip-hop star, 36, played one of his final It’s All a Blur Tour stop at Scotiabank Arena in his native Toronto on Saturday and treated another special fan in the crowd, as audience members captured footage of the Grammy winner giving away a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon to an unsuspecting concertgoer.
Rather than personally selecting a fan in the audience to go home with a luxury prize, as he’s done before, the rapper — who released his latest album For All the Dogs on Friday — picked someone at random. In a fan-recorded clip, the “Slime You Out” artist got his fans hyped by turning a raffle drum in anticipation.
“So, this is what I’m going to do: I’m going to pick the winning ticket out of this drum right here,” the hitmaker said, as members of his crew brought a raffle drum up on stage. “I want everybody to be super quiet. I want to hear the winner scream.”
After Drizzy turned the drum, reached his hand inside and dug around while the crowd cheered on, he declared the winner as “17482.” Eventually, he spotted the fan who was taking home the new vehicle in one of the upper levels of Scotiabank Arena.
He playfully said, “They got ‘em? They up top? You better bring your ass down here. We’re going to send somebody up there to check that ticket.”
It’s unclear which model of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon the “Rich Flex” artist was raffling off, but according to Mercedes-Benz’s website, the basic model retails at $139,900.
The “Hotline Bling” rapper also paid it forward during his Friday night show in Toronto by offering to help out a fan who was holding a sign saying she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
In a video shared by a concertgoer, the Canadian artist paused his set to address the fan’s message. “This one’s important to me,” told the crowd. “Her sign says, ‘I just found out I have MS, will you help make my night.’”
He continued by opening up about how his friend and collaborator, the record producer 40 (whose real name is Noah James Shebi) was diagnosed with MS at age 22 in 2005. “You know, my brother 40 is one of the strongest people on earth, and he fights through a lot of things,” Drake shared. “So what I’m going to do is, I’m going to connect you with 40 first of all, maybe you can have a conversation.”
He continued, “And second of all, I’m going to pay whatever it takes to get you the best help in the world, I promise you that. You got my word — and you can come back tomorrow night!”
Throughout Drake’s It’s All a Blur Tour — which first kicked off in July — he also gave out $50,000 to a fan going through a break-up and handed out an expensive Birkin bag, among other gifts.
Earlier this month, Drake dropped his eighth solo studio album For All the Dogs, which includes features from 21 Savage, Bad Bunny, Chief Keef, J. Cole, Lil Yachty, SZA and many others.
While speaking on his Table For One radio show on SiriusXM’s Sound 42, the recording artist revealed For All the Dogs may be his last record for some time.
On the show, the star explained he’s taking time away from music to focus on his health. He shared, “I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest. I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough.”
“Nothing crazy but just I want people to be healthy in life and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he added. “So I need to focus on my health and get right, and I’m going to do that.”
