When parents split it’s tough for the kids, but fans are noticing that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s kids are dropping odd hints after Jada was public about secretly being split from Will for years.
She opened up to People magazine about being split from the Hitch actor in 2016. “We’re still figuring it out,” she said, “We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got a deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”
The couple share two children together, Willow, 22, and Jaden, 25. Since their mother’s announcement, the two seem to be acting weirder than normal on social media.
The younger of the two, Willow, posted on her Instagram Story after the news of her parents’ relationship status was released. She posted a text card on her story that defined the word “resentment.”
“Resentment is literally the experience of feeling something over and over again (re-sentiment),” it read, “It’s being stuck in a loop. A helpful question to ask myself is, ‘Do I want to keep feeling this way?’ If the answer is no, then I get to remind myself that I can choose to feel differently.”
The post was originally created and posted on the account of Dayal Gauranga, a yoga expert. But she wasn’t the only Smith child being cryptic on social media.
Jaden deleted almost all of his posts on Instagram earlier this week. The only thing left for his 19.8 million followers was cover art from his 2021 album. He then posted two white posts, leading fans to ask if new music was coming soon.
But then a few days later he posted nine new photos in black and white that promoted his collaboration with New Balance. The pictures spotlighted a model each.
One was captioned: “Thank You For Coming On This Ride, This Walks Of Life Campaign And The 0.01 Shoe Mean The World To Me, Thank You @newbalancelifestyle Our @msftsrep Team And All Of Our Amazing Supporters And MSFTS Community Around The World. ||| See You Soon.”
Will and Jada got married in Baltimore on New Year’s Eve 1997. Jada told Hoda Kotb on the Today Show that she and Will were trying to figure out “how to be in a partnership.” The Red Table Talk Host added: “In regards to, how do we present that to people? We hadn’t figured that out.”
“By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted of trying,” Jada finished.
