Just before Taylor Swift ran off the stage to kiss him, Travis Kelce made a public promise to stand by her side. The pop star opens her Eras Tour with her Lover era complete with a performance of fan favourite song The Archer. It’s a vulnerable song exploring Taylor’s insecurities and, in part, a fear that she isn’t worthy of people sticking with her. At one point, the lyrics ask the questions: “Who could ever leave me, darling? But who could stay?.

Fans in Argentina worked hard on a fan project to show their love and devotion to Taylor. They passed around signs that read “We will stay” to be held up after she sang the heartbreaking line.

NFL star Travis sat in the VIP tent alongside Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and was spotted holding up the sign alongside his fellow Swifties. While holding the sign he continued to dance as he did through most of the show. He wore a green, white, and blue patterned shirt as he spent the night smiling, singing, and supporting his new girlfriend.

Throughout the night, Taylor appeared to make gestures of love toward him, as well. During her song Lover, fans insisted she stared at the VIP tent and during the Evermore era’s willow, she pointed toward him when she sang: “That’s my man.”

Perhaps the biggest sign of her falling in love again during the performance was an iconic lyric change. Rather than singing, “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me” during her closing number, she sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” in reference to Travis’ team the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans noticed that Travis reacted with rosy blushing cheeks and a huge smile.

After wrapping up the show, Taylor waved goodbye to fans until she spotted Travis waiting by the backstage tent for her. He respectfully waited for her before she bolted into his arms and gave him a passionate kiss. Travis reciprocated and wrapped his arms around his new girlfriend. The public display rattled fans who gave an amazing amount of support online to the new relationship.
