Season 9 of Big Brother Naija returns to Enthusiastic fans

The organizers of Africa’s popular reality television show, Big Brother Naija, have announced that the ninth season of the show will commence on July 28. The season premiere will air on DStv Channels 151 and 154, marking the beginning of a 71-day run filled with drama and excitement.

Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and Channels West Africa at MultiChoice, revealed that a diverse lineup of paired housemates has been selected to participate in the season. With a staggering N100 million worth of cash and prizes up for grabs, the competition promises to be intense.

“We are thrilled to unveil a brand-new season of Big Brother Naija. The anticipation on social media and the interest surrounding this ninth season has been phenomenal. This fresh format guarantees to bring new dynamics and unforgettable entertainment,” Tejumola commented.

She emphasized their dedication to delivering unparalleled entertainment, highlighting that this season’s theme aims to inject new vigor into the show, offering a unique perspective on the competition.

“For the first time, contestants will enter the game as pairs, introducing an electrifying twist. This sets the stage for unprecedented alliances and thrilling competition,” Tejumola added. “Each duo will bring distinct dynamics to the house, promising intense rivalries and unexpected friendships. In other news – South Africa deports 208 Zimbabwean nationals

On July 19, 2024, South African officials conducted a joint operation resulting in the apprehension of 208 individuals without proper documentation in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo Province. The detainees included 176 Zimbabweans, alongside individuals from Mozambique and India.

The operation commenced on the evening of July 18 and concluded the next day, focusing on illegal activities in Marble Hall and Groblersdall areas.
