In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Big Xhosa expressed his admiration for Zimbabwe’s musical talent and his desire to collaborate with Winky D, describing him as his top choice for a partnership. “Zimbabwe is talented. I believe that I would really create something beautiful. It has been my dream to play in Zimbabwe even before I became popular this side,” he shared.
Big Xhosa’s passion for Zimbabwean music is rooted in his experiences growing up in South Africa. “I grew up with a lot of Zimbabwean guys here in South Africa, and that’s how I fell in love with Zimbabwean music,” he said. He has been actively engaging with Zimbabwean artists, including Nutty O and Enzo Ishall, although formal collaborations have yet to materialize.
This ambition aligns with his plans to release a new EP, titled *Bye Big Xhosa*. The forthcoming project reflects his emotional journey in the music industry and his intent to reconnect with his authentic musical self. Big Xhosa revealed that his recent music, characterized by internet trends and viral content, was a departure from his earlier, more serious work. “Before I started getting popular on the internet or in South Africa, I was always making serious music. Now, I’m returning to that reserved self,” he explained.
The artist’s career has been marked by notable achievements and high-profile moments. His diss track *Ninyile* has amassed over 1.1 million views on YouTube, showcasing his bold approach to the South African hip-hop scene. Additionally, Big Xhosa’s role in the popular South African telenovela *Isitha: The Enemy* has broadened his appeal beyond music.
With his hit single *My Ex* featuring Big Zulu making waves in 2023, Big Xhosa is poised to continue his upward trajectory. His social media following is impressive, with over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and substantial followings across other platforms.
