Suspect to appear in Pretoria court after being found with dead woman’s body

A 21-year-old man is set to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 26, following his arrest on charges related to the murder and robbery of a woman. The man was apprehended on Friday, August 23, after being discovered with the body of the victim in her vehicle.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the suspect was found in possession of items stolen from the woman, including laptops, cell phones, jewelry, and the victim’s bank cards. The arrest came after an official from a tracker company, who was tracing the stolen vehicle, located it at a petrol station in Moreleta Park, Tshwane, in the early hours of August 24.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman was killed during a house robbery in Standerton, Mpumalanga Province, on the evening of August 23. The suspects allegedly ransacked the home before murdering the victim, placing her body in her Range Rover, and driving away.

During the search of the vehicle and the suspect, police also recovered two firearms and a replica firearm. The man now faces multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of suspected stolen property.
