With Kanye West, unpredictability is part of the brand. Whether he’s trolling, testing the public’s patience, or earnestly working through his artistic process, it’s often difficult to decipher what’s real and what’s theater. That uncertainty has haunted nearly every one of his album rollouts over the years—and his latest project, Bully, is no exception.
The ongoing saga surrounding Bully has left fans once again suspended in a fog of confusion and anticipation. While Kanye’s recent attention has mostly been directed toward his controversial WW3 (also known as CUCK) project—complete with explosive and inflammatory singles like “Heil Hitler (HALLELUJAH),” “COUSINS,” and “WW3”—Bully was actually the first album he teased in this current creative era. It was initially announced in late 2024, and at the time, it appeared that Ye had a clear rollout plan.
The most definitive update came in late May 2025, when Kanye West confirmed to online personality Sneako that Bully would officially drop on June 15. “The Bully album is coming out on June 15,” he said. “We sold vinyl, though. We just haven’t made them yet. That sht is like, 30,000 units or something like that.” He then went on a philosophical tangent about gaming the system, suggesting that instead of buying into traditional promotion strategies, he’d rather go against the grain. “You don’t beat the game by buying it. I think what I should do is do the opposite… Just put my sht up… Perception is reality.”
Kanye West’s “Bully” Album Release in Doubt Amid Confusion and Mixed Signals
That statement was consistent with something he had told influencer Justin Laboy a few months earlier during a public appearance with his daughter North West. At that time, Kanye West again promised that Bully would release on her birthday—June 15.But now, just hours before that promised date, signs are pointing to yet another delay—or at least a state of disarray.
Music news aggregator Kurrco posted a series of tweets on June 14 that shed light on the murky situation behind the scenes. In a screenshot of a private exchange, someone close to Kanye sent him a tweet asking whether he planned to begin promoting Bully. Kanye West response was both unexpected and baffling: “Which album is that?”
The reply was enough to set off alarm bells among fans, many of whom are familiar with Ye’s erratic creative process. For an artist who once demanded studios be set up in hotel rooms to finish albums hours before release, forgetting the name of an album scheduled to drop within 24 hours didn’t exactly inspire confidence.
A follow-up message—allegedly from another member of Kanye West s circle—asked directly if Bully was still coming out on June 15. This time, Ye seemed slightly more focused: “Working on it now,” he replied, followed by two flexed bicep emojis. When asked if that message could be shared publicly, he gave his approval with a simple “Yes.”
Though it was a promising sign that work was at least underway, it still left fans unsure of whether the album is truly ready or just another unfinished idea Kanye is trying to will into existence. The vague responses, lack of coordinated promotion, and absence of any official tracklist or pre-release singles have all contributed to the growing belief that Bully may miss its release window—or drop in an incomplete form, as has happened with past projects.
Kanye West ’s history of last-minute changes, canceled releases, and surprise drops is well documented. Albums like The Life of Pablo, Ye, Jesus Is King, and Donda all went through multiple title changes, missed deadlines, and dramatic revisions, sometimes even after the initial release. It’s now almost a tradition for Ye fans to temper expectations, no matter how confidently he announces a date.
Still, Bully holds a particular weight for some followers, as it was first introduced with an emotional and confrontational tone—possibly addressing themes of trauma, criticism, and vulnerability. Many anticipated it would be more introspective than the shock-value-heavy tracks on WW3, but that remains to be seen.
As of now, Bully’s release status is officially in limbo. With less than 24 hours to go until the supposed drop, it’s anyone’s guess whether the album will appear on streaming platforms, be delayed indefinitely, or show up in some radically unexpected format.
For longtime Kanye fans, the situation is frustratingly familiar. And yet, as always, they’ll be watching closely—just in case the chaos produces another masterpiece.
