Zambian social media is on fire after explicit videos of Mwaka Halwindi, a young woman who once inspired many ladies to work hard and stay independent, started circulating online.
Halwindi, known for her motivational TikToks and Instagram reels urging young women to “build their own tables,” was admired by many for her “soft life” lifestyle, designer outfits, and travels. She often told her followers to avoid sugar daddies, positioning herself as a hardworking, independent young boss lady.
However, her clean image has been shattered after a video leaked showing her in an intimate situation with a married man, which reportedly led to the man’s arrest and him losing his job. Before people could process the shock, more videos started leaking, allegedly showing Halwindi with different married men, sending Zambian social media into chaos.
Reports claim that at least three married men can be identified in the videos, with allegations that these men funded her lifestyle, including her gadgets, trips, and luxury fashion. Some of the men are reportedly well-known business figures in Lusaka.
Social media users have since branded her the “Zambian Balthalzer,” and many young women who once looked up to her now feel betrayed, calling this a wake-up call about blindly following influencers without knowing how they truly fund their lifestyles.
