Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines, this time for rewarding well-known street preacher Prophet Inzwirashe Matema with a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6 and US$50,000 in cash. The surprise gesture, which has sparked widespread debate online, was described by Chivayo as an act of appreciation for Matema’s unwavering dedication to spreading the gospel in the streets of Harare.
Wicknell Chivayo, who has become famous for his extravagant donations to churches, musicians, and individuals across Zimbabwe, announced the latest gift through a post on his official Facebook page. In a lengthy message titled “THE HOLY SPIRIT FROM 1st STREET…”, he praised Prophet Matema’s humility, discipline, and boldness in preaching outside conventional church walls.
In his post, Wicknell Chivayo reflected on the value of humility in service to God, noting that true ministry does not always require pulpits, microphones, or grand church buildings.
“I have come to realize that the humility of mankind is the highest honour and exaltation of God. It may often appear as if our prayers are humble or simple, but that is exactly where the Holy Spirit manifests and meets us at our time of need,” Wicknell Chivayo wrote.
He went on to commend Matema for transforming the busy streets of Harare into his sanctuary and ordinary passersby into his congregation.
“This is why I hold in very high respect men of God who choose to preach in the streets and convert ordinary people from all walks of life. Today, I want to recognize Prophet Inzwirashe Matema, a great preacher who has chosen the streets as his altar, ordinary people roaming in town as his congregation, and the truth as his only weapon,” Chivayo added.
Wicknell Chivayo Rewards Street Preacher Prophet Inzwirashe Matema With Brand-New SUV and US$50,000
The businessman revealed that he had instructed Prophet Matema to collect the luxury SUV from Exquisite Motors, a dealership in Harare known for supplying high-end vehicles to celebrities and public figures. According to Chivayo, the car was fully paid for and ready for collection.
In addition to the vehicle, Chivayo also pledged US$50,000 in cash to support Matema’s ministry, saying the funds would help expand his gospel work and allow him to reach more people across the country.
“Congratulations, Prophet Inzwirashe Matema. In recognition of your humble service, please go and see Victor at Exquisite Motors and collect your brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD6, fully paid for and ready for collection. In addition, you will receive US$50,000 in cash to support your ministry to extend the gospel to even greater heights,” he declared.
As expected, the announcement quickly went viral on social media, attracting thousands of comments and shares within hours. Many Zimbabweans applauded Wicknell Chivayo for supporting grassroots ministry and recognising the efforts of a man who has dedicated his life to preaching in the streets, often without financial support.
Supporters described the gift as an inspiring gesture that highlighted the importance of humility, consistency, and genuine service to God. Others praised Prophet Matema himself, saying the recognition was long overdue for someone who has tirelessly ministered in public spaces regardless of weather conditions or social perceptions.
However, not everyone was impressed. Critics accused Chivayo of using his wealth to seek public attention and questioned whether such donations were sustainable or truly beneficial in the long run. Some argued that the money could have been channelled into community development projects, hospitals, or educational scholarships.

Still, the overall reaction leaned towards admiration, with many believers pointing to the biblical principle of honouring servants of God as justification for Wicknell Chivayo’s grand gesture.
Prophet Inzwirashe Matema has become a familiar figure in Harare’s central business district, particularly around First Street, where he is often seen preaching passionately to pedestrians and commuters. Unlike traditional church leaders, Matema has made the streets his pulpit, drawing crowds of curious listeners and committed followers.
His style of ministry—marked by bold proclamations, scripture-based teachings, and calls for prayer and discipline—has earned him both admirers and critics. To many, however, he embodies the spirit of grassroots evangelism, reaching people who might never set foot in a church.
This is not the first time Wicknell Chivayo has made headlines for his lavish gifts. In recent months, he has handed out luxury cars, cash donations, and financial support to various individuals, including musicians, social media personalities, and church leaders. His philanthropic style—flashy, public, and often controversial—has made him one of the most talked-about figures in Zimbabwe.
While some view his actions as mere publicity stunts, others argue that his generosity has provided real opportunities and life-changing benefits for the recipients. In Prophet Matema’s case, many believe the gift will boost his ministry and perhaps open doors for wider recognition of street evangelism as an important part of Zimbabwe’s religious landscape.
By gifting Prophet Matema a state-of-the-art SUV and substantial financial support, Wicknell Chivayo has once again positioned himself at the centre of public conversation. Whether seen as a philanthropist, showman, or both, his actions continue to leave a lasting impact on the lives of those he chooses to honour.
For Prophet Inzwirashe Matema, the recognition marks a new chapter in his ministry, one that could take his message beyond Harare’s bustling streets to new and greater platforms.
