Bill Cosby is being hit with yet another lawsuit alleging sexual misconduct. Actress Joan Tarshis directly accuses Cosby of rape, according to new court documents. She claims they met through a mutual friend when she was 19. Cosby allegedly invited her to a writing session at the Cosby Show studio. While alone in Cosby’s bungalow, she alleges that he gave her a drink and later she passed out. When she woke up, Cosby was allegedly undressing her.
While disoriented, she claims Cosby was able to overpower her and allegedly forced his penis into her mouth. According to Tarshis, Bill allegedly drugged her twice in the ’70s.
In the court documents obtained by TMZ, the second incident occurred about a year after in New York City. She agreed to go with him to a music event, but alleges that after he gave her a drink she lost consciousness. The next day, Tarshis claims she woke up in bed with Cosby.
The complaint Tarshis filed alleges assault, battery, infliction of emotional distress, and false imprisonment. Cosby has been accused of similar crimes in the past. In fact, this isn’t the first time Tarshis vocalized her concerns and stepped forward with allegations against Cosby. During an interview with CNN’s Den Lemon, she said he forced her to perform a sex act.
Allegations against the star first came out around 2014 and include accusations from over 60 women. The accusations date back to the ’60s. Cosby repeatedly denied previous accusations and allegations. However, through the legal system, he was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault at retrial in 2017. After a sentence of three to ten years, Cosby appealed the decision which was upheld. The conviction was then overruled after the court struck an agreement with a previous prosecutor.
