Zimbabwe National Women’s Team coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda said they are not under any pressure to emulate their male counterparts by winning the COSAFA Women Championship.

However, Sibanda’s charges will approach the remaining fixtures playing their normal game. The Mighty Warriors are up against Kenya today in the second semi final at Barbaourfields Stadium this afternoon.

The gaffer told the Chronicle that their focus for now was on the game, not to emulate what the Warriors did in South Africa.

“To be honest, we are not under pressure at all to emulate our male colleagues, who lifted the COSAFA Castle Cup in South Africa. We are just going to play our normal game and let the rest take care of itself, not that we want to emulate the Warriors,” said Sibanda.

Nonetheless the women’s team will be looking to advance to the final after they breathed a sigh of relief when the progressed to the semis as best runners up courtesy of Kenya’s win against Swaziland in a Group B clash.
