Manchester United ‘Refuse’ To Give Up On Highest-Earning Superstar

Manchester United have reportedly “refused” to give up on an out-of-favour superstar who is the club’s highest earner with a reported weekly wage of £400 000 (R7.7 million).

Chile international Alexis Sanchez arrived at Old Trafford in January 2018 to much fanfare after sealing a switch from rivals Arsenal.

Despite being United’s highest earner, though, Sanchez has struggled to replicate the form that made him a household name in England during his days with the Gunners.

As a result, the 30-year-old, who has registered a mere five strikes in 41 matches since his arrival at the Theatre of Dreams, seemed poised for an exit from the 20-time league champions in January this year, according to The Sun.

However, according to the Evening Standard, the Manchester club has “refused to consider cutting their losses” with regards to the former FC Barcelona star.

Despite being linked with a move to China, it is believed United are yet to receive any concrete offers for Sanchez, and will bide their time with the Chilean as a result in the hope that he can rediscover his best form.

With Solskjaer taking over the reins at the club on a permanent basis, Sanchez will be expected to follow in the footsteps of teammates Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof in drastically improving under the former Molde tactician if he is to have a future at the club beyond the current campaign.
