Phakathi is reportedly a successful Technical Director. He graduated from Durban University of Technology (DUT), specializing in civil engineering.
Phakathi also has qualifications in Municipal Financial Management which he got at the University of Pretoria.
He has extensive experience and has worn many hats in roles such as the technical advisor (where he served for multiple sports clubs and youth development programs) and project management (where he served as a unit manager and HR manager).

According to Zalebs, Mabote’s husband is good friends with Royal AM F.C’s President Shauwn Mkhize, and the two are even business partners at the football club where Phakathi holds the role of the Technical Director.
His years of experience and broad skillsets landed Phakathi on the board of directors at Royal AM.

Kefilwe has a history of relationships with prominent businessmen. In 2020 she reportedly dated controversial ANC tenderpreneurs, Edwin Sodi.
According to The South African, Sodi was reportedly arrested on corruption charges. His assets were also reportedly seized by the the Hawks.
Mzansi reportedly dragged Kefilwe into Sodi’s corruption scandals and accused her of living a soft life through the tycoon’s alleged corruption.
This time, Mabote indicated her marriage with Phakathi is everything she has been looking for and more. Taking to her Instagram, she wrote,
