Zimbabwean politician and businessman Temba Mliswa has taken to social media to speak about Winky D‘s Chitungwiza show which was blocked by the police on Saturday.
Temba Mliswa took to Twitter and shared his thoughts about the Zimbabwe republic police move. He tweeted:
“@PoliceZimbabwe blocking a @winkydonline show in Chitungwiza is not just disturbing but shameful. Are the authorities now trying to derail his career with this cowardice? An artist whom we should be celebrating we are busy fighting! Minister @KirstyCoventry what is this?”
It was reported that police shut down Winky D’s performance in Chitungwiza on Saturday night moments after he performed his politically-charged song, botso. Police officers, some in plain clothes, surrounded the star before dragging him offstage just after 10PM.
Thousands of fans at Dam View Chikwanha Blue Roof Grill and Bar sang ‘Siyanayi Gaffa’ in support of the star. Winky D was sharing the stage with several other musicians including Saintflowmusic and Tocky Vibes.
