Musician Winky D will for the first time not perform at this year’s Castle Tankard horse race after he was booted out of the line-up. No explanation has been given by organisers.
The top billing dancehall chanter has been a headliner of the event for over five years, filling up Borrowdale race course each time.
Castle Tankard is an annual horse racing show sponsored by Delta’s Castle Lager.
The move to scrap Winky D from the list follows recent attacks on him and his music which has been deemed political by ruling Zanu PF.
His last show at Damview, Chitungwiza was shut unceremoniously by police officers.
