He might be one of the biggest Hollywood stars today, but that doesn’t mean Chris Hemsworth wants his kids to get an early start in the industry. The Aussie actor, 39, shares three children — India, 11, and twin Tristan and Sasha, 9 — with wife Elsa Pataky.
And the “Thor” star said that while his eldest daughter recently starred as Gorr’s daughter in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” he wants India to prioritize being a kid. I want her to have a childhood and I think so does she,” he told ET Online.
“I said, ‘There’s plenty of Time, sweetie. Go to school, horse ride, have fun, be a kid.’ Because once the train moves, it’s pretty hard to get off, and you miss a lot of things. The Avengers” actor, however, said he’s happy to support India in becoming an actor “if she’s keen to do more things” when she’s older.
India’s debut in “Thor: Love and Thunder” was not the first time she’s witnessed the hustle and bustle of a movie set with her famous dad.
Taking to Instagram last year, Hemsworth posted two snaps with India on the set of “Thor: The Dark World” and “Thor: Love and Thunder” — each 11 years apart. Here’s two pics of me and my daughter,” he wrote in 2022. “One was the first time she was on set 11 years ago, the other is the most recent on Thor: Love and Thunder. She’s my favorite superhero,’ he sweetly wrote in the caption.”
For his part, Chris previously revealed that slowing down his acting career — but not retiring — after learning that he’s at very high risk of suffering from Alzheimer’s disease later in life. The actor discovered he’s at high risk for the disease while filming his National Geographic and Disney+ docuseries, “Limitless,” late last year.
