Kanye West is thought to be working on his first album in two years as he continues to spend time in Japan with his wife Bianca Censori. The 46-year-old, legally known as Ye, released his tenth and last studio album Donda back in 2021 and eager fans have been waiting for new music ever since.
American rapper Rooga has claimed the Flashing Lights hitmaker is ready to make his musical comeback but refused to give any details about the project.
During an appearance on the No Jumper podcast, the 28-year-old was quizzed on Kanye’s next moves by host Adam Grandmaison.
Despite Adam asking the rapper if he was helping to write any songs for Kanye, Rooga remained tight-lipped about the upcoming project.
The Mirror has approached Kanye’s representatives for comment. Rooga previously teamed up with Kanye for his 2021 album and was featured on the track OK OK.
Fans were delighted by the announcement and took to Reddit to discuss the new album.
“Comeback of the century on the way,” one person wrote while another added: “Oh this album better be joyful I don’t want to hear sad s**t all jokes aside I’m happy.”
A third fan was convinced Kanye has been working on his album in Japan, writing: “He just said what we already knew he’s working on an album in Japan.”
The musician has been spending time in Tokyo with his new wife Bianca, with the pair recently being spotted watching a sumo tournament. The couple were filmed by a fan as they settled in to enjoy the show.
In the video, which was shared on Twitter, Kanye tried to keep a low profile as he wore an all-black outfit and covered his head with a hood. He wore a casual T-shirt and a small bag strapped across his shoulders.
During their holiday, Kanye and Bianca have even been joined by his 10-year-old daughter North West. Bianca’s sister, Angelina Censori, and her parents, Leo and Alexandra Censori, also joined them for part of the trip.
