Popular South African musician Kelly Khumalo has been responding to backlash from angry social media users, including a tweet from a troll who is threatening to shoot her.
The Ngathwala Ngaye singer took to her Twitter on Thursday, 3 August, to share her gig guide after being removed from yet another event this week.
Kelly shared that she will be performing at the Rusty Rocks ‘All For Women’ concert on 12 August, arrogantly adding that whoever has a problem with that should vomit.
“12th of August sila engathandi ayiphalaze!” she wrote.
However, one troll issued a death threat to the singer, telling her if she ever gets shot at on the day of the event, they will be behind the incident.
“Hy @KellyKhumaloZA please note if ever u [sic] get shot on the day, it will be me,” wrote the tweep, whose handle is @gossipsharer.
In response, Kelly told the troll that she has noted the threat.

While Kelly is still getting bookings, she is also being dropped like a hot potato by some event organizers.
On Monday the mom-of-three was removed from the line-up of ‘Tribute To Women’ festival. The reality TV star was agained removed from another event on Thursday, the ‘Maseru Jazz Festival’.
According to both event organizers, the decision to drop Kelly stems from complaints by unhappy audiences following shocking testimonies during the rebooted Senzo Meyiwa murder trial which is in its third week at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
Kelly was the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper’s girlfriend when he was killed in her presence at her mother’s house in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014.
Six adults were with Meyiwa that fateful night. These include Kelly; her mother, Ntombi Khumalo; her sister, Zandie; Zandie’s boyfriend at the time, Longwe Thwala; the later player’s friends, Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala; as well as Kelly’s two children.
Last week, State’s fourth witness, Colonel Lambertus Steyn – who is a data analyst and investigation officer at the South African Police Services (SAPS) Cold Case Unit – testified that accused number five (Fisokuhle Ntuli) called Kelly’s number twice before the footballer was killed.
However, defense counsel Advocate Zandile Mshololo – who is representing Ntuli – poked holes in Steyn’s testimony on Monday.
When Adv. Mshololo probed about the number Steyn told the court belonged to Ntuli, he admitted it was not RICA’d under the suspect.
Steyn also testified that no one in the Khumalo household called the police or the ambulance after Meyiwa had been shot. He also told the court that the data on Kelly’s phone was wiped hours after the incident.
