The cast and crew of Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza biopic have been counting down to the official drop of the show, and the day is finally here.

To mark the occasion Wiseman Ncube shared a snap of himself by Mandoza’s grave on Tuesday before the big day.

Tshoo dlozi,” he wrote.

In a separate post, he shared pictures he took with Mandoza’s children at the premiere of the series set to air on BET Africa.

“One of my best moments with these two gentle souls, Mandoza’s first and second born sons Tumelo and Tokollo Tshabalala. The way they appreciate and honour the way I carried their father’s story … it’s humbling. From the first day I met them till today they never called me by my name or any other name but Thayima which means dad.”

“That alone means so much to me because it means they really saw their dad in me. Second frame takes the cup … performing Nkalakatha and singing Mandozas verses with his wife Sis Mpho Tshabalala in front of me and the way she looked at me with that beautiful smile made me believe that grootman is smiling in heaven,” he wrote.

Previously speaking to the publication Wiseman shared what it took for him to step into the shoes of the kwaito mega star.

“I don’t like to say that I play the character of Mandoza because I feel I’m disrespecting him. I had to actually live his life. I’m humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity and to be trusted with such a big role.”

The six-part story that delves into the life of the kwaito music legend is set to debut exclusively on BET Africa on August 16.

“I’m a spiritual person, and what I found about Mandoza when I was doing my research was he used to pray a lot. I allowed everything to flow because I could feel his spirit every time we were shooting. I could just feel something coming in. I did a lot for me to connect with him.”
