Controversial celebrity Sangoma and reality TV star Gogo Maweni‘s name has been dragged into the video circulating on social media of an Orlando Pirates official doing his things at a goalpost moments before the game against Chippa United started.
That was the debate amongst football fans on social media after a video of a Bucs official applying an unidentifiable substance on the goalposts at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Tuesday, 15 August.
Pirates were denied their second league win of the season after their on-loan player, Mosele, found the back of the net in the second half of the game for Chippa United.
Mosele’s goal canceled out Bandile Shandu’s first-half goal for the Soweto giants, resulting in the clubs sharing the spoils.
While Pirates’ draw was a talking point, what caused a frenzy on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, was a clip of a man sporting grey Adidas regalia applying a blackish substance on the goalposts.
The footage shows the Pirates players walking towards the goal to somewhat remove the attention from their official as he goes to work.
When he is done, he moves over to the right flank and applies more substance on the ground before pouring a liquid.

Having previously been pictured with Orlando Pirates officials last year, and boldly professing to using muthi on former Pirates player Thabo Rakhale on Gigi Lamayne’s podcast Point of View, fans were quick to link the suspected witchcraft action to Gogo Maweni.
