Drip founder Lekau Sehoana celebrated turning 35 years old. To mark this milestone, Lekau reflected on his humble journey to success. Lekau recalled being addicted to alcohol and having no purpose for his life. Today, he celebrates becoming one of the most important figures in society. Lekau recently announced the closure of the children’s clothing store, Kiddies Republic, which he launched in 2022. He made the announcement in a statement shared on Wednesday, June 14.
The first Kiddie Republic store was opened on July 30, 2022, at The Mall of the North in Polokwane, Limpopo, with plans to open more stores across the country.
According to the statement, the business was “not financially viable”, thus the difficult and unfortunate decision to close its doors or undergo a liquidation process. “All stakeholders were informed by management of the liquidation and subsequent appointment of the liquidators,” read the statement.
Moreover, “The decision to liquidate the entity was made independently from any other entity managed by Mr. Lekau Sehoana.”
The statement further revealed that “The Kiddies Republic company is a separate entity from the other entities managed by the CEO, Mr Lekau Sehoana, Drip Footwear is a separate entity from The Kiddies Republic.
