Two months after celebrating their anniversary, Okmalumkoolkat and his longtime partner Princess Zulu have seemingly called it quits.
She took to her Instagram timeline to announce the split to her followers with the caption: “Amafu’s dad and I are no longer together #respectfully.”
In early July the couple marked eight years of their union, gushing over their relationship. They had grown to be one of Mzansi’s most celebrated couples.
When reflecting on his marriage with TshisaLIVE in 2020 after paying lobola for his partner, Okmalumkoolkat revealed he met Princess during the filming of his hit song and short film Amalobolo.
“We played in the video together, then we were friends for a bit, then we decided to see each other. We chose to be best friends, and being there for each other.”
The couple went on to have a son together, Amafu who is three years old. Speaking of how commitment had influenced his music, the rapper said he became more aware of what he said.
“I am more aware of what I am saying. Back in the day, I used to write a lot of fiction. Now that I’m older, I started talking more about my life, but when I was younger I could be Smart Mampara.”
