‘The Bachelorette SA’ star Qiniso Van Damme and Gareth call it quits

The Bachelorette SA star Qiniso Van Damme has decided to remain friends with Gareth “Gaz” Ehret after they ended their relationship.

The couple met on M-Net’s The Bachelorette SA when Qiniso was looking for love and Gareth received the final rose among the 22 men vying for her attention on the show.

Qiniso took to X on Tuesday announcing they had broken up months ago after more than three years together.

“I am thankful for the years Gareth and I shared, for having loved and been loved so beautifully and so fully. Our love was real and special and will always remain so. We have chosen to share this love with each other as friends,” she wrote.

“We shared a deeply special chunk of our lives together. I’m glad to have had the last few months to heal and grow. I am sorry to those who heard church bells, to those who believed with their hearts that this was on life. We both hoped so too.”

The model thanked their followers who have been interested in their relationship since witnessing their chemistry on-screen.

“I am beyond honoured and privileged to have had South Africa share in our love and cheer us on. The thought that millions cared enough to invest in and tune in every Thursday on M-Net channel 101 still overwhelms me with gratitude.”

“I am happy Gareth and I could reignite your faith in love by showing you what real love looks like. I hope we have not disappointed you. Never give up on the hope of love.”
